The explanatory memo by the lecturer at the Department for the Development of the Soviets and Law, addressed to the president of the Higher Party School, I. P. Grushchenko, contained no words of repentance or apology. The author wrote that he had been officially invited to Luginy and that he “took part in editing the session’s draft resolution.” Also, he “proposed that the My Land program crew from Ukrainian TV make a report on the session.”

I contacted the president of the Higher Party School, Prof. I. P. Grushchenko. “Indeed,” the president confirmed,

I had a call from V. M. Kavun, regional party committee’s first secretary, who said that Pokreshchuk had created panic at the session and instead of helping, just whipped up hysteria. I asked the regional committee for an objective testimony in writing about his behavior there. I have got it already. The party cell will discuss his behavior at the session.
